Councillor Mitchell stated that he had made the initial introduction to the company that had submitted the proposal before the Committee. However, he had not had any involvement with them since that time.

Items Involving the Disclosure of Exempt Information

The Committee is invited to pass the following resolution:-

 

That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of information as defined in Schedule 12A of the said Act.

Affordable Housing Proposal

To consider a proposal for the acquisition of properties to be let as Affordable Housing.

Minutes:

The Committee considered a proposal for securing housing at affordable rents. The Corporate Director – Finance and Resources presented the report, setting out a proposal for acquiring properties from a housing development which the Council could then manage at affordable rents. Outline terms were set out in the report.

 

Having considered the proposal, taking into account Officer advice and due diligence undertaken, the Committee agreed that this proposal should not be progressed.
